You Shall go to the Ball

You Shall go to the Ball

We're not sure how it works in other agencies, whether teams work tirelessly under the strict eye of their MD as he sits in a big chair reigning supreme, or perhaps they're left to their own devices and the boss is happy as long as the work gets done.

Here at Silver Bullet Marketing we're forced to address our MD John Dias as 'Mr President' as he cracks the whip on a daily basis in order to keep us in line, and our clients happy...

That's only half true, there's no whip-cracking. We enjoy a wonderful, laid-back creative work environment here in Ouseburn Valley, but believe it or not John is in fact a President.

John presides over Novocastrians Rugby Football Club based at Sutherland Park in Benton. The club boasts 24 teams from the under sevens to the senior men's and women's teams as well as a vet's team. Founded in 1898 the club has had tremendous success on the field, and every year hosts a glamorous members' ball to celebrate the hard work that goes into the smooth running of the club throughout the year.

This year, in an unprecedented move the club President, our very own Mr Dias, decided to host the ball at the club's ground and it went ahead with great success, "The event was dieing on its feet being held at a City Centre venue, but the prospect of every penny spent over the bar going to the club and not some third party produced a fantastic reaction with the 300 tickets being quickly snapped up. It was a great night entirely due to the hard work of the Ball Committee who worked so hard over the past few months."

Never a crowd to shy away from a good knees up, the Silver Bullet team were in attendance with our glad-rags on, ready to keep up with the partying antics so many rugby teams are famous for, and we weren't disappointed.

The drinks were flowing, the music was playing and the teams and members of the club seemed to thrive on the energy of their club's grounds. Guests were waited on hand and foot by the younger teams who served the delicious meals, and we enjoyed a host of games and raffles that both kept us entertained - as we crossed our fingers hoping to win the iPad, and raised vital funds to keep the club running for another year.

So thanks Mr President, (and Novos) for a fantastic evening and here's to another successful year both on and off the field.
